The company, based in Hamburg, was founded in 1982 and has been a member of the insurance brokers' group Martens & Prahl since 1989 MARTENS & PRAHL Versicherungskontor GmbH & Co. KG.

As a Hanseatic insurance broker, we are well positioned both nationally and internationally: We are partnered with many globally active companies from the shipping industry and the transport sector, with many years of experience and close connections throughout the world.

With our excellent contacts in all insurance markets, we can develop customized insurance policies for you - nationally and internationally. Thus we are able to provide comprehensive and personalized consultation, and to provide support for our clients around the world.

Die Marine Assekuranz GmbH ist seit dem 01.01.1993 Mitglied des Bundesverbandes Deutscher Versicherungsmakler (BDVM).

Im Jahr 2023 haben sich die Marine Assekuranz GmbH und Fram Insurance Brokers AS aus Norwegen unter dem Dach der Marine Alliance AS zusammengeschlossen, um ihre Erfahrung, Kompetenz und Branchenkenntnisse zu bündeln.
Im Jahr 2025 schloss sich Speedwell Insurance Brokers Ltd. der Marine Alliance AS an. Die Familienunternehmen Söderberg & Partners und Martens & Prahl sowie die Geschäftsleitung von Marine Assekuranz, Speedwell und Fram sind als Gesellschafter der Marine Alliance AS beteiligt.
